Our 2011 summer season focussed on a mix of popular and new dances.
Our 2010 summer season of classes focussed on the repertoire of a specific dance deviser each week.
Dances, attended by our own members and friends from other societies, are held in Autumn and Spring and a New Year Ball in January. We are also one of the five local scottish societies the West MACS (West Middlesex Association of Caledonian Societies) who collaborate in running a Charity Ball in April. We also hold an informal mid-week dance in December and June.
2011 began with a very well attended new year ball at Allum Hall in Elstree, dancing to Frank Reid's Band, and there was good support, including from our newer dancers, for the charity dance in Pinner in February to the Silver Cross Band in aid of CHAS. In March dancers from other local societies joined us for our spring dance in Eastcote, again dancing to the Karl Sandeman duo, and five local societies collaborated in the West MACS Charity Ball, dancing to the Craigellachie Band, in aid of Scottish charity Children 1st. Our summer dance class party in June with music from Chris Oxtoby, including a prize winning dance, Riding the Border Marches, by outgoing president Janet Cook. Events towards the end of 2011 were our Autumn Dance in October to the Silver Cross Band and our Christmas Dance in December, to Ian Robertson, both well attended by our own members and by very welcome visitors from other societies. And we come full circle to another well attended new year ball in 2012 at Allum Hall in Elstree, dancing to Frank Reid's Band.
Highland Dance classes are held at the same venue from 7.15 pm on alternate weeks,
The class is largely comprised of adult beginners but all are welcome.
